In the roaring 20s, The newly established Woodland Avenue Savings and Trust Co. of Cleveland, Ohio provided banking services for middle to lower income families living in Southeast Cleveland until the Great Depression hit with disastrous results. Like so many banks, it didn’t survive. What did survive was this blank promissory note measuring 3.5″ by 9″. Please add $2.50 postage and handling.
